Shianne Kauhausen

Hello! My name is Shianne Kauhausen and I am fairly new to Merritt. My family and I moved from the Mainland during the summer of 2021 and have fallen in love with the small community.

I graduated Simon Fraser University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. I have had the opportunity to explore the field of criminology by working in treatment centre’s,  with at-risk youth, as well as with federal offenders living in the community. My true passion though is working with others to overcome trauma and help them live their best life. It is a journey and I am honoured that people choose to share their stories with me and I can walk the path of healing with them.

I focus on the strengths and resiliences of each client and use a client-centre, trauma informed approach. I understand that each person has their own journey and it is important to meet the client where they are at.

When I am not working, I love curling up with a cup of coffee (or tea) and a good book, or crafting and creating inspirational projects for my home. I have 2 children, a step-daughter, a partner, and animals who all keep me busy.

" I trust the next chapter of my life because I am the author who will write its ending." - Naria Grewall
